We will be attending the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on Wednesday January 8, 2020 in Las Vegas to get a guided tour of the FLIR Systems (FLIR-Rated Neutral) booth. FLIR is a ~$7B market cap thermal imaging (infrared) electronics firm with exposure to defense, industrial and consumer markets.

On the firm’s last earnings call it noted increased interest in its thermal imaging systems by automobile suppliers (Veoneer) for use in ADAS/Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Initial unit sales are expected in 2021 and this conference could give a better idea of the size and nature of FLIR’s role in this long-term secular growth area.

We have a 30 minute+ tour of FLIR’s booth and we also plan to visit other ADAS firm booths as well as Textron-Bell’s booth, which is expected to focus on Urban Air Mobility (UAM).
